About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced or newly qualified English Teacher to join our partner school in Exeter. This is a long-term position with the potential to become permanent, providing a fantastic opportunity for an English teacher to make a lasting impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging lessons in line with the national curriculum, inspiring students to develop a love for literature and language.
  • Prepare students for GCSE and/or A-Level exams, ensuring they achieve their academic targets.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, offering personalized feedback and support.
  • Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation and learning.
  • Work collaboratively with the school's English department and other staff to share best teaching practices.
  • Engage in the wider school community and participate in extra-curricular activities when required.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • A degree in English or a related field.
  • Previous experience teaching English at secondary level is preferred, but strong NQTs are also welcome to apply.
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  • A passion for teaching English and inspiring students to reach their full potential.
  • Flexibility and willingness to commit to a long-term position.
