Prosthetist Specialist

This is an exciting opportunity to join Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as a Certified Prosthetist. As part of our dedicated team, you will play a crucial role in providing specialist orthotic clinical-technical prescriptions to patients. This challenging and rewarding position requires strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care.

• Accept referrals from healthcare professionals and undertake clinical assessment and examination of patients to provide suitable specialist orthotic clinical-technical prescriptions.
• Use measurement and data acquisition techniques in recording all pertinent information to ensure the accuracy of patient prescriptions.
• Perform risk assessments in the selection of components for customised devices to ensure patient safety.

• BSc (Hons) Degree in Prosthetics & Orthotics or equivalent qualification.
• Current state registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
• CPD Portfolio showing evidence of reflective practice, relevant experience, and additional training.
• Full UK driving licence and access to own transport.

The Trust provides an Orthotic service to Mid and North Nottinghamshire through its base at King's Mill Hospital. Out-patient clinics and In-patient cover are also provided at Mansfield Community Hospital, Newark Hospital, and specialised outreach clinics.
