We are seeking an experienced Plant Fitter to join our client's team in the Yorkshire region. As a key member of their 24/7 engineering function, you will be responsible for maintaining plant equipment for motorways and local authority road projects. This is a great opportunity to bring your expertise to a dynamic and supportive team.

The successful candidate will have a recognized apprenticeship (higher-level standard preferred) and practical mechanical systems experience in industrial, agricultural, or similar environments. Strong background in heavy industry systems like conveyors, drive systems, motors, belts, pumps, gearboxes, and crushers is also essential. Welding and fabricating skills are preferred, as well as fault-finding ability and proactive approach to repairs.

You will be working on rollers, pavers, JCBs, and other plant equipment, maintaining assets in a timely manner and undertaking emergency breakdown repairs. The role involves owning small-scale projects, delivering them in a pragmatic and proactive manner, and taking a cost-conscious approach to maintenance activities. You will also participate in root cause analysis to eliminate repeat failures and contribute to the continuous improvement of the engineering function.
