Operational Lead for Educational Catering

We are seeking a skilled Operational Lead to oversee the catering and service operations in our schools. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of our units and counters, delivering exceptional customer service, and contributing to the overall success of Chartwells.

Our team serves millions of nutritious meals every week to pupils and students across the UK.
Job OverviewThe successful candidate will be responsible for supervising teams to deliver impeccable food and customer service, overseeing the efficiency of all in-unit operations, managing inventories, monitoring budgets, and implementing action plans. They will also communicate regularly with their line manager to monitor KPIs and targets, represent Compass Group UK&I, and maintain a positive brand image.
Key Responsibilities:- Supervise teams to ensure exceptional food quality and customer service
- Oversee in-unit operations, including inventory management and budget monitoring
- Communicate with line managers to monitor KPIs and targets
- Represent Compass Group UK&I and maintain a positive brand image
- Identify opportunities for new service concepts to drive sales
- Liaise between customers and internal teams to exceed expectations
- Support and train teams to excel in their roles
To succeed in this role, you will need a minimum of two years of management experience within a similar sector or industry. You should have experience managing teams in a similar role, brilliant financial acumen, excellent communication and organisational skills, and be an ambitious and motivated individual who is always looking to upskill.
A competitive salary of £28,000 - £35,000 per annum is offered for this position, depending on experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, which includes exclusive travel discounts, savings on food shopping, quick access to a Digital GP, and many more perks. Please note that this role is contracted to 45 weeks per year.
