Vascular Access Nurse Specialist

Job Overview
The Northern Lincolnshire & Goole NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled Vascular Access Nurse Specialist to join our team at Grimsby Hospital. As a key member of our venous access/invasive device nursing team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of patients requiring advanced venous access/care.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment and Care: You will assess patients and select the most appropriate vascular devices for their needs, including insertion and ongoing care support.
- Collaboration with Multidisciplinary Teams: You will work closely with Theatres, Anaesthetic, and Critical Care nurse Director to implement and maintain policies, guidelines, protocols, and educational initiatives that ensure high-quality care of vascular access/invasive devices.
- Specialist Advice and Support: You will provide informed advice regarding IV therapies for practitioners, patients, families, and carers in accordance with agreed protocols and guidance.
In addition to your clinical expertise, you will also have the opportunity to develop your skills in peripheral cannulation, midline/PICC insertions, and more invasive forms of vascular access (non-tunneled and tunneled devices).
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must possess:
- Advanced Clinical Skills: You will need to be highly skilled in peripheral cannulation and midline/PICC insertions.
- Strong Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills are essential for working effectively with multidisciplinary teams and providing specialist advice to patients and practitioners.
We offer a competitive salary of £43,041 - £72,840 per annum, depending on experience, plus a range of benefits, including flexible working arrangements, to support your work-life balance.
