This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with Cranfield Aerospace Limited, a leading technology company based on Cranfield University's campus.

Role Summary
  • We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to work on design specifications, surveying, model creation, and producing drawings for manufacturing and installation.
  • You will use CATIA v5 to create 3D CAD models and 2D engineering drawings for aircraft structural elements, mechanisms, and equipment installations.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Design and develop mechanical components using CATIA v5, ensuring compliance with project requirements, regulations, and best practices.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve design objectives and ensure quality, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  3. Utilize MS Office suite products and PLM to compile engineering reports and presentations.
  4. Lead and coordinate small teams of Mechanical Design Engineers, mentoring junior employees.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Strong experience with CATIA v5, 3D modeling, and production of 2D engineering drawings.
  • Ability to utilize CATIA v5 to produce part and assembly designs along with associated manufacturing drawings.
  • Creative problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to overcoming engineering challenges.
  • Commitment to quality, accuracy, and attention to detail in all aspects of work.
Estimated Salary Range: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum
