Job Title: Freight Operations Control Manager

Colas Rail UK is seeking a highly skilled Freight Operations Control Manager to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our freight services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the day-to-day operation of our freight services, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company standards.
  • Lead and direct a team of freight controllers, providing guidance and support to ensure effective decision-making.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including Freight Management, Loco Planning, and Engineering, to ensure seamless operations.
  • Manage accidents and incidents, including escalation and associated paperwork.
  • Perform performance monitoring and TRUST Delay Attribution, with associated reporting.
Requirements:
  • Experience in railway operations, with a strong understanding of the rail freight industry.
  • Accomplished control experience and knowledge, with the ability to think outside the box and make strong decisions.
  • Good negotiation skills and the ability to resolve problems.
  • Leadership and management qualities, with the ability to motivate and direct a team.
  • Strong IT skills, with in-depth knowledge of TOPS.
