Job Title: Freight Train Driver

At Colas Rail UK, we are seeking a skilled Freight Train Driver to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of freight trains on our network.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate freight trains in accordance with company procedures and safety protocols.
  • Ensure the safe loading and unloading of freight at designated terminals.
  • Conduct regular inspections of locomotives and trains to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams to identify and resolve technical issues.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth train operations.
  • Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
  • Appropriate training and certification in freight train operation.
  • Knowledge of railway safety regulations and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights and weekends.
