About the Role:

The NIHR Regional Research Delivery Network (RRDN) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Development Director to lead the development, delivery, and implementation of RRDN strategic plans. The successful candidate will be responsible for building research capacity and capability at organisational and regional level, with a particular emphasis on addressing the needs of the life sciences industry.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in research strategy and delivery, with experience of working in a similar role. They will be able to demonstrate excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to coordinate the work of teams and lead strategic implementation plans.

The NIHR Research Delivery Network is part of the National Institute for Health and Care Research, and is funded by the Department of Health and Social Care to support the country's world-class research system. Our vision is that the UK is a global leader in the delivery of high-quality, commercial and non-commercial research that is inclusive, accessible, and improves health and care.

The successful candidate will be based at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust, which is one of the largest acute Trusts in the country. The Trust has a strong commitment to research and innovation, and is a digital exemplar committed to improving patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development, delivery, and implementation of RRDN strategic plans.
  • Build research capacity and capability at organisational and regional level.
  • Work with regional partners to develop strategic implementation plans.
