About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Non-Executive Director to join our team at Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S). As a key member of our Board, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our organisation and ensuring that we continue to deliver exceptional results for the UK Ministry of Defence.

About You

We are looking for a strategic, independent thinker with a strong track record of delivering complex programmes and projects. You will have experience working with unionised workforces and a deep understanding of public sector remuneration and policy. Your ability to think critically and make informed decisions will be essential in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic guidance and oversight to the DE&S Board and its sub-committees
  • Ensure that the organisation is well-run and meets the requirements of Government, particularly the stewardship of public funds
  • Work closely with the Ministry of Defence to ensure that our programmes and projects are aligned with their priorities
  • Contribute to the development of our organisational strategy and ensure that it is implemented effectively
