Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver whole class cover during the absence of the class teacher or during PPA cover
  • Support the teacher in personalising the curriculum to allow the students to thrive
  • Support the teacher with planning of future lessons
  • Implement the school's policies and procedures, including safeguarding the students
  • Establish and maintain an enjoyable and safe learning environment
  • Engage students in their lessons and foster a love for learning

About the School:

Our school caters for students with autism and complex needs from 3 - 19 years. Therefore, there are opportunities to work across primary, secondary and post-16 levels. With an adapted curriculum, no two days are the same. They have fantastic provisions such as a forest school, woodland walk, bike trail, swimming pool and much more.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of SEN and strategies to support a diverse range of needs. You must have excellent communication skills and be able to work well within a team. Patience, empathy and a genuine passion for supporting young people is essential. You will have a Level 3 or 4 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in schools, Level 4 Diploma in Childcare and Education, or other relevant qualifications in nursery work or childcare.
