Special Educational Needs Class Teacher Role

Polaris is currently recruiting for a Special Educational Needs Class Teacher to join our team at Easthorpe School in Ruddington, Nottinghamshire. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work with pupils who have complex SEMH needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, and mild/moderate learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The successful candidate will plan and deliver high-quality lessons within the national curriculum, catering to the complex SEMH needs of our pupils.
  • They will support the class team in facilitating learning opportunities and promoting positive behaviours among our students.
  • This role requires effective communication and collaboration with other School staff to ensure that our pupils' needs are met, and their progress is reported accurately.
  • We expect the successful candidate to supervise pupils during non-classroom time, including extra-curricular activities and school trips.
  • The ideal candidate will build strong relationships with pupils, driving interaction and positive learning outcomes.

Requirements:

  • A must-have qualification is Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Candidates should possess a strong basic education up to degree level.
  • Previous successful Primary and SEND teaching experience is essential for this role.
  • The successful candidate will have experience working with pupils who have SEMH needs within an educational setting.
  • We are looking for someone with effective behaviour management techniques.
  • The ideal candidate will be committed to professional development and willing to learn.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • A competitive salary of £30,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience.
