Cargo Handler Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and flexible Cargo Handler to join our team on a temporary basis, with a minimum commitment of 2 months. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the efficient handling of cargo, ensuring safety and compliance with company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Loading and Unloading: Load and offload freight manually or mechanically, following handling procedures.
  • Inventory Management: Accurately place and retrieve freight in and from storage areas, recording locations as necessary.
  • Security and Compliance: Conduct bond checks and perform housekeeping duties to meet customer requirements.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and protect company or customer property and equipment, reporting any issues immediately.
  • Health and Safety: Adhere to the Company Health & Safety policy and Security Regulations.
  • Procedure Compliance: Comply with Company handling procedures and implement policies as directed in the Company Handbook.
  • Additional Duties: Carry out any other reasonable duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Communication Skills: Good people skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
  • Pressurised Environment: Capable of working within a pressurised environment.
  • Flexibility: Availability to work flexible hours at short notice.
  • Initiative: Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Fork Lift Licence is essential, Certificate Level CO is also required.
