Job Overview

The East of England Ambulance Service requires a dedicated leader to oversee the delivery of patient care in a fast-paced emergency setting.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Support the general day-to-day running of the locality in conjunction with the Local Area Manager and Team Leaders.
  2. Focus on staff welfare, operational productivity, and efficiency, and best utilisation of available operational resources.
  3. Lead a team of clinicians, Team Leaders, and other support staff to provide safe, effective, caring, and responsive services.
  4. Ensure coverage at multiple work settings, including response duties to 999 calls and incidents, A&E Departments, and ambulance stations.

Requirements

  1. HCPC Registered Paramedic or equivalent Nurse/Allied Health Professions registered with a relevant governing body.
  2. Managerial qualification or equivalent experience, demonstrable experience of working in a supervisory role, or above.
  3. Full UK manual driving licence with C1 category and no more than 3 penalty points.

Desirable Criteria

  1. NARU Operational Commander Course acquired within 12 months.

Skills & Knowledge

  1. Excellent interpersonal, organisational, and influencing skills.
  2. Excellent communication with the ability to adapt styles and messages to match the situation and audiences.
  3. Ability to assess situations and make decisions quickly and confidently.

Experience

  1. Mentoring and clinical supervision experience.
  2. Experience of working in highly pressured situations while remaining calm and effective.
  3. Experience of managing a team.
