Main Job Responsibilities

University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly motivated Clinical Scientist to join our team in Southampton. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality audiology services to children and adults, with a focus on paediatric audiology and vestibular work.

Key Duties:
  • Conduct audiological assessments and provide recommendations for treatment and management.
  • Work closely with the audiology clinical and administration teams, as well as other professionals, to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Participate in service improvement projects and research within the department.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and colleagues to ensure excellent patient care.
Person Specification:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Master's degree in Audiology or a related field.
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Clinical Scientist, or eligibility to register.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and leadership skills.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

The following qualifications and experience are highly desirable:

  • Participation in service improvement and development activities.
  • Experience of leading the assessment and management of complex cases.
  • Familiarity with Auditbase.
  • Experience of training students and other staff.
  • Experience of line management.
