Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled mobility equipment specialist to join our Surrey Wheelchair Service team.

You will use your clinical and technical expertise to assess the mobility needs of adults and children with complex needs and prescribe manual and powered wheelchairs, as well as posture management and pressure management accessories.

  • You will work with junior staff, providing clinical and technical guidance to colleagues in the service.
  • You will collaborate with clinical and operational teams to deliver high-quality service performance, focusing on personalised approaches with measurable outcomes.
  • You will liaise with service user groups and stakeholders to facilitate joint working and identify opportunities for improving service user outcomes.
  • You will contribute to internal training programs, including apprenticeships and student placements, and help develop internal training resources.


Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong analytical, engineering, and practical skillset to solve problems related to mobility equipment.
  • Experience working with patients with long-term or deteriorating medical conditions would be advantageous.
  • Confidence in using digital systems and software for record-keeping and service performance analysis.
  • A full current UK driving licence for a manual transmission vehicle and willingness to drive Ross Care vehicles (vans) as necessary.
