Part-Time Writing Consultant

Job Summary:
Norfolk State University invites applications for the position of Part-Time Writing Consultant in the NSU Writing Center. As a member of our team, you will provide guidance and advice to students on rhetorical and grammatical conventions, as well as facilitate students' progress toward achieving their educational goals.
Responsibilities:
- Meet with students on a one-on-one basis to provide learning assistance related to writing.
- Provide feedback on writing assignments and help students engage in the writing process.
- Assist students in properly formatting papers in designated documentation styles.
- Design and facilitate writing workshops within the Writing Center and as requested by faculty and staff.
- Give presentations in workshops, seminars, or other sessions.
Requirements:
- Master's degree, preferably in English, Rhetoric and Composition, or Professional Writing.
- Coursework in rhetoric/composition or the equivalent.
- Professional proficiency in digital education technology.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
