Job Description

DJF Solicitors is seeking an experienced and motivated Residential Conveyancing Specialist to join our team in Bristol. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge and experience in handling all aspects of residential conveyancing, including property sales, purchases, and remortgages.

This role offers the flexibility of up to 1 day of remote working per week, providing a healthy balance between office and home working.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage Residential Conveyancing Caseload:
    • Handle a full range of residential conveyancing matters, including freehold and leasehold property transactions, remortgaging, transfers of equity, and new build purchases.
    • Conduct all necessary searches, review contracts, and deal with all aspects of property registration and completion.
    • Liaise with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, and other solicitors to ensure the smooth progress of transactions.
  • Client Care:
    • Provide high-quality, client-focused service with regular updates and clear, concise advice throughout the transaction process.
    • Manage client expectations and handle any queries or concerns in a professional and timely manner.
  • Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, including anti-money laundering and client identity verification.
    • Keep accurate records of all case files and correspondence, ensuring all legal requirements are met.
  • Team Collaboration:
    • Work closely with the support team and assistant to ensure administrative tasks are completed promptly, allowing you to focus on legal matters.
    • Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to the continued growth and success of the residential conveyancing department.
  • Business Development:
    • Participate in networking events and other business development activities to promote DJF Solicitors' residential conveyancing services.
    • Maintain and build relationships with local estate agents and referrers to drive new business.
Person Specification:
  • Qualifications & Experience:
    • Qualified solicitor, licensed conveyancer, or legal executive with a minimum of 3 years' experience in residential conveyancing.
    • Proven track record of managing a varied caseload of residential conveyancing matters independently.
    • Strong knowledge of the conveyancing process, property law, and regulatory requirements.
  • Skills & Attributes:
    • Excellent communication and client care skills, with the ability to explain complex legal matters in simple terms.
    • Highly organized with strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all tasks.
    • Ability to work under pressure and manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Proficient in using conveyancing software and case management systems, as well as Microsoft Office applications.
