Operations Director

As an Operations Manager at Amazon UK Services Ltd., you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of our sites. You will lead a team of Area Managers and be responsible for creating and implementing operational plans to meet business objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and develop a team of Area Managers to achieve operational excellence
- Lead operational teams on a shift, addressing issues and positively impacting site performance
- Analyse shift performance against business objectives and implement actions to improve operational efficiency
- Collaborate with support teams, including HR, Finance, Health and Safety, and Security
- Design and deliver initiatives to enhance operational performance across sites
You will lead shifts at one of our operational sites, serving as a key link between various teams, including finance, safety, and operations integration teams. Your day will involve meetings, deep dives into performance and risk metrics, and mentoring and coaching your team to achieve excellence.
About the TeamAmazon's Amazon Transportation Service (ATS) team is a diverse and critical component of our success. As part of ATS, you will contribute to the efficient transportation of packages, using air, sea, and road transport, as well as sortation centres equipped with the latest technology. Our team relies on data-driven decision-making and prioritises safety above all else.
Requirements- A degree
- Relevant experience in people and stakeholder management
- Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English and intermediate proficiency in the local language
- Relevant experience in using data or anecdotal evidence to influence business decisions
- Relevant experience in key areas of production and supply chains
While not required, experience in Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen techniques, as well as working in a similar logistical environment, is preferred. Proficiency in the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) is also beneficial.
