Job Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic candidate to fill the role of Clinical Support Officer within our General Surgery Secretaries department. This position supports the Breast department, and we are looking for someone with excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join North Middlesex University Hospital as we continue to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. As a Clinical Support Officer, you will be responsible for communicating with patients and their relatives regarding appointments and admissions details both verbally and in writing. You will also assist in capacity and demand exercises to identify constraints and areas for improvement, ensuring booking, data recording, clinic, and elective admissions outcomes of the patient pathways are proactively managed to achieve 18-week targets.

You will be working closely with the Service Support Manager to provide a user-focused administrative service to the General Surgery Team. A key aspect of this role is ensuring effective tracking of patients along the care pathway and monitoring of waiting time targets. Additionally, you will be required to work flexible hours as needed by the service, providing cross-cover within the team when required.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to develop effective working relationships across the organization, and maintain a professional approach. They should be willing to learn and commit to studies in order to achieve qualifications. The salary for this role is approximately £25,000-£30,000 per annum, depending on experience.
