About the Role

MWH Treatment is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our Engineering team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering complex design layouts, specifications, and schedules for various water and wastewater schemes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement cost-effective design solutions that meet project specifications and can be constructed and commissioned effectively.
  • Produce and check all design deliverables, including specifications, schedules, drawings, and calculations.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines to develop site/plant 3D models.
  • Ensure the utilization of standard designs and practices wherever possible.
  • Deliver design stage outputs within agreed timescales and budgets.
  • Coordinate design outputs across all technical disciplines.
  • Maintain competitiveness and provide estimates and feedback for proposals.
  • Establish working relationships with construction staff and supply chain representatives to promote buildability and supply chain efficiency.
  • Work to procedures and processes to ensure the continuing development of the department.
  • Assist in developing, monitoring, and reviewing procedures and processes.
  • Ensure coordination of designs with all other disciplines internal and external to MWH Treatment.
  • Maintain files and records throughout the duration of contracts.
  • Assure customer satisfaction and chair operability and maintenance workshops.
  • Work within a culture that prioritizes customer satisfaction and maintain a personal development plan.
  • Assist in supervising and developing staff, ensuring a safe working environment, and reducing waste.
  • Ensure designs take account of environmental issues and comply with CDM 2015 Regulations and health and safety requirements.
