Job Summary:

Chroma Recruitment Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Principal Opto-Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. As a leading recruitment agency in the space and satellites industry, we are looking for a talented individual to take on a challenging role that involves designing and developing complex optical mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop optical mechanical systems from concept to manufacture, including requirements gathering, specifications, detailed design, simulations, material selection, test & development, certification, build and assembly.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including RF, Electronics, and Software engineers, to ensure seamless integration of systems.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and develop solutions that meet their requirements.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and technical reports.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments, and apply this knowledge to improve design and development processes.

Requirements:

  • Degree level in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software, such as Creo.
  • Proven track record of delivering mechanical and optical designs for the space industry or similar industries.
  • Strong FEA simulation skills, including static and dynamic analysis.
  • Experience with GD&T and working with high tolerances or in a highly regulated industry.
