Job Title: Commercial Contract Management Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Contract Management Specialist to coordinate the provision of management services from contract signature and award to completion of projects in various sectors. As a key member of our team, you will provide comprehensive technical expertise on the administration of building contracts and the issuing of certificates.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure preparation of contract documents, warranties, bonds, and licenses and assist in their formal execution by the appropriate parties.
  • Provide comprehensive technical expertise on the administration of the terms of building contracts.
  • Actively measure and provide valuations of the work carried out and adjust variations in accordance with the terms of the contract to agree with the contractor.
  • Utilize expertise to ensure adequate cost control and reporting services during the contract.
  • Develop financial reports for clients in the form and at the frequency required.
  • Manage all costs associated with design changes, contract awards, construction activities, and client charges.
  • Oversee and engage in the evaluation of claims for delay and additional costs made by the contractor and any nominated subcontractors/suppliers.
  • Provide expertise on the issuing of certificates of practical completion and ensure that final accounts are negotiated and agreed.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement plans/identify key business improvements.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering service excellence to clients.
  • Proven experience in commercial management.
  • Sound understanding of costs and timescales of work undertaken and implications of risk of failure to deliver.
  • Proven experience in areas such as risk management and change control management.
  • Proven experience of different types of contracts.
  • Knowledge of BIM techniques and applications.
  • Negotiation skills.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Digitally competent.
  • A degree in quantity surveying/cost management (or equivalent).
  • Detailed knowledge in most forms of contract.
  • Sound knowledge of value engineering, life cycle costing, contract law, and contractual frameworks relating to construction.
  • Proficient knowledge and expertise in specific sector/market of project/role.
  • Relevant technical qualification/certification for project portfolio/s.
  • Knowledge of contractual frameworks relating to construction.
  • Sound knowledge and ability to undertake and advise on contract administration and contract management.
  • Ability to be an effective communicator with all stakeholders.
Estimated Salary: £65,000 - £80,000 per annumAbout the Role
