About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced individual to lead the development and management of our scientific computing platforms. As a key member of our Information Technology Office (ITO) team, you will work closely with our scientists to plan and deliver platforms that meet their current and future needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage large-scale HPC platforms in research environments
  • Lead teams to provide HPC support services and training
  • Understand scientific research processes, especially in bioinformatics, and their IT requirements
  • Expertise in data lifecycle management technology for big data
  • Familiarity with scientific applications and programming languages like R and Python
  • Manage teams to support large compute clusters and high-performance cluster file systems
  • Awareness of enterprise Linux/macOS/Windows environments and public/private cloud platforms
  • Previous experience of working in a biomedical research environment
