About the Opportunity

We are seeking a talented physicist to join our Nuclear and Thermal Analysis team in our Energy business. The primary focus will be on supporting the UK nuclear energy sector, with potential opportunities in the broader nuclear industry, other advanced engineering sectors, or nuclear projects worldwide.

No prior experience is required; we provide on-the-job training, mentoring, and relevant courses for career development. Our team's typical projects include reactor physics, shielding, criticality, fuel cycle management, thermal analysis, fault studies, transient analysis, coding, boiler analysis, safety case production, and more.

  1. Experience in an engineering consultancy environment or nuclear sector
  2. Knowledge of reactor technologies and experience in undertaking physics assessments for civil nuclear power technologies
  3. Experience in bid writing or assessment and associated commercial awareness
  4. Familiarity with nuclear safety assessments and safety case construction
  5. Ability to assimilate, analyze, and provide judgments on complex technical issues clearly and concisely
  6. Good consultancy skills, such as good communication, teamwork, adaptability to client requirements, and time management skills
Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  1. Nuclear master's or PhDs preferred or degree or post-graduate qualification in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline
  2. Ability to assimilate, analyze, and provide judgments on complex technical issues clearly and concisely
  3. Good consultancy skills, such as good communication, teamwork, adaptability to client requirements, and time management skills
Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, dependent on experience, plus a range of benefits including free single medical cover and digital GP service, family-friendly benefits such as enhanced parental leave pay, reimbursement towards relevant professional development and memberships, and more.
