We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant with a specialism in Autism to join our team in Sheffield. As an Autism Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing tailored support to students with Autism, enabling them to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide targeted assistance to students with Autism, adapting learning materials and strategies to meet their individual needs.
  2. Monitor the progress of students, offering feedback to teachers and parents to ensure that they are reaching key developmental milestones.
  3. Create a safe, structured, and nurturing environment, offering emotional guidance to help students manage their anxieties and sensory sensitivities.
  4. Maintain strong lines of communication with teachers, parents, and professionals involved in each student's education, ensuring a holistic approach to their development.
  5. Promote social integration and inclusivity within the school community, encouraging a sense of belonging for students with Autism.
Requirements:
  • Relevant experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant, particularly with students on the Autism spectrum.
  • Strong empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for helping students with Autism succeed.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively within a team, adapting to meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Experience in implementing individualised learning plans (IEPs) and supporting students in both one-on-one and group settings is advantageous.
