We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Peer Worker to join our team. As a Senior Peer Worker, you will play a key role in providing high-quality individual supervision to Peer Support Workers in community services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individual supervision to Peer Support Workers in community services, ensuring they receive the support and guidance they need to excel in their roles.
- Be actively involved in the recruitment process for Peer Support Workers, including participating in interview panels to identify top talent.
- Work closely with internal services, such as Human Resources and Occupational Health, to ensure robust processes are in place for the recruitment and maintenance of Peer Support Workers' wellbeing.
- Co-deliver training programs, including the accredited Developing Expertise in Peer Support and Peer Support Worker Team Preparation sessions, to equip Peer Support Workers with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed.
- Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team to deliver support to individuals accessing services, promoting a coaching role to support service users in developing personal recovery plans.
- Meet, welcome, and orientate service users, their carers, and families to the service, establishing supportive and respectful relationships with people using the service.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and service users.
- Proven experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of the principles and practices of peer support.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to meet the needs of the service.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
