Carrington West is seeking a seasoned Principal Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Durham, UK. This full-time, permanent position offers a competitive salary and excellent career progression prospects.

Role Overview:

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing clean and waste water infrastructure projects attached to the Northumbrian Water framework. This involves determining the best solutions for pumping stations, treatment works, mechanical screening, chemical dosing systems, and sludge handling systems.

This is a hybrid role with equal time spent between Carrington West's office in Durham and remote work. The ideal candidate will have experience working on AMP projects attached to a UK Water utility company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing and developing infrastructure projects for clean and waste water treatment.
  • Developing detailed designs for pumping stations, treatment works, and other related systems.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure project delivery.

Requirements:

  • Mechanical engineering degree or equivalent experience.
  • Proven track record of working on AMP projects in the Water sector.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
