Real Estate Paralegal Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Real Estate Paralegal Specialist to join our Legal Services Unit in either our Glasgow or Edinburgh office. The Legal Services Unit is the central paralegal team at our firm, assisting associates and partners across different departments in the UK offices on a wide variety of tasks and projects. This role will focus on supporting our thriving Real Estate team.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a Scottish law firm and be able to manage a busy caseload of transactions, including liaising with clients to obtain instructions.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Drafting and negotiating documents such as offers, leases, variations, dispositions, licences to occupy, and other ancillary lease documentation;
  • Dealing with sales and purchases, including plot sales and deeds of servitude;
  • Reviewing and reporting on titles and dealing with ad hoc title queries from solicitors and clients;
  • Managing completion and post-completion registrations, forms, filing, and client signing/reporting requirements;
  • Assisting with file opening procedures, including preparing first drafts of retainer letters and ensuring compliance with money laundering regulations;
  • Dealing with billing for transactions.
