About The Role

Cardiff Parenting Services are part of Cardiff Early Help, providing group and individual parenting programmes and interventions across the city. As a Parenting Facilitator, you will work in community settings, sometimes with families in their homes or accommodation, and contribute to the planning and delivery of services that promote parent-child interaction and support child development.

Co-facilitating with a Senior Parent Group Facilitator, you will contribute to planning, delivering, monitoring, and evaluating effective programmes of support and intervention. You will foster a welcoming and inclusive environment, sensitive to the needs of adults and children, and lead on creche provision where it supports families to access parenting group support.

What We Are Looking For
  • A degree in Children's Care, Learning, Play and Development (or equivalent) is essential.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the developmental needs of children and the ability to deliver information to parents in a sensitive manner.
  • Ability to work with service users who are experiencing challenge and trauma, with a non-judgemental approach and empathy.
  • Proactive problem-solving and response to disclosures from service users concerning vulnerable children and/or adults.

A clean driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential for this role, which requires travel across the city. The ability to speak other languages, particularly Welsh and community languages, would be an advantage.
