Job Title: Corporate Governance Manager

Main Duties and Responsibilities
Lead Governance

  • Provide advanced professional assistance to the Company Secretary in support of the administration and implementation of the Trust's corporate governance agenda.
  • Ensure the Trust Board and its committees operate smoothly and effectively.
  • Work closely with the Company Secretary to ensure all corporate governance activities are undertaken to the highest standards of probity and according to regulatory and legislative requirements.

Complex Activity Planning and Delivery

  • Prepare, plan, and deliver a broad range of complex activities as required by the Director and Deputy Director of Corporate Affairs.
  • Formulate action plans and establish robust governance and assurance mapping.

Compliance and Risk Management

  • Contribute to establishing and maintaining good corporate governance practice across the Trust to ensure compliance with the regulatory framework.
  • Work closely with senior members of the corporate governance team to embed the Trust's corporate governance framework and support compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.

Person Specification

Education: Educated to Degree level or significant equivalent experience.


Professional Qualification: Hold or be willing to work towards a graduate-level corporate governance qualification.


Knowledge and Experience: Recent experience of working in a governance role in a complex organisation, preferably in a corporate governance role within the NHS. Ability to interpret national policy initiatives and identify the relevance to the trust and the governance agenda.
