Job Title: Structures Manager - Civil Engineering

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Structures Manager to lead a team of engineers, inspectors, and project managers in the delivery of a local government contract. The successful candidate will have experience in inspection, maintenance, strengthening, and reconstruction of structural assets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of engineers, inspectors, and project managers in the delivery of a local government contract.
  • Develop briefs, deliver, and review inspections, present feasibility studies, and provide advice on structural assets.
  • Assess bridges and retaining walls, and maintain strategies for inspections, monitoring, and assessment.
  • Communicate requirements to the team, mentor, and develop them to ensure implementation of contract performance.
  • Create and manage the forward works programme, prepare and monitor OPEX and CAPEX budgets.
  • Review tender submissions, monitor supply chain partner and sub-contractor compliance to legislation and standards.
  • Review Health and safety plans and risk assessments, and carry out the duties of Designer where required by CDM regulations.
Requirements

The successful candidate will be a Chartered Civil Engineer (CEng MICE/MIStructE or equivalent) with experience of BCI inspections and working knowledge of Highway Structures design, maintenance, and management, including codes of practice and British standards.

They will also have previous budgetary control, risk assessment, and management experience, excellent communication, initiative, and decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritize workload.

Discounted ferry travel is available, and a relocation package will be considered for the right candidate.

We offer a competitive salary of £53-58,000 per annum, plus bonus and car/car allowance.
