We are seeking a visionary leader to join the University of Westminster as the Head of School for the School of Social Sciences. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the School's strategic objectives, fostering a culture of inclusivity and excellence, and promoting interdisciplinary research and knowledge exchange.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic plan for the School, aligning with the University's overall vision and goals.
  • Lead and manage a team of academic and professional services staff, promoting a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Foster a culture of inclusivity, diversity, and social responsibility, ensuring that the School's programs and activities reflect the University's values and commitments.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including academic partners, industry leaders, and government agencies.
  • Oversee the development and delivery of high-quality academic programs, ensuring that they meet the needs of students, employers, and the wider community.
  • Manage the School's budget, resources, and operations, ensuring effective use of University funds and assets.
  • Contribute to the development of the University's research strategy, promoting interdisciplinary research and knowledge exchange across the institution.

Requirements:

  • PhD or equivalent in a relevant field.
  • Proven track record of leadership and management experience in higher education or a related field.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and strategic planning skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of higher education policy, trends, and best practices.
  • Experience in budget management and resource allocation.
