About the Role

The Credit Controller plays a vital part in managing the company's credit and collections processes. This position is accountable for ensuring timely payments from clients, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting the overall financial health of the organisation. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a keen eye for detail, enabling them to effectively manage accounts receivable and mitigate financial risks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage outstanding invoices, ensuring timely collection of payments from clients.
  • Maintain accurate records of all transactions and communications with clients regarding their accounts.
  • Analyse client creditworthiness and assess risk levels to determine appropriate credit limits.
  • Conduct regular follow-ups with clients via phone and email to ensure prompt payment.
  • Perform data entry tasks related to accounts receivable and maintain up-to-date financial records.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports and statements as required.
  • Support accounts payable processes by liaising with suppliers regarding payment queries.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in accounting software is essential for managing financial records effectively.
  • Experience in financial services will be advantageous for understanding industry standards and practices.
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate client data and make informed decisions regarding credit management.
  • Exceptional phone etiquette to foster positive relationships with clients while discussing sensitive financial matters.
  • Accurate data entry skills to ensure all information is recorded correctly and efficiently.
  • Familiarity with accounts payable processes will enhance collaboration with other departments within the organisation.
