Job Description

We are seeking a Production Assistant to play a crucial role in supporting craft workers, maintaining housekeeping, performing routine manual tasks, and assisting with environmental responsibilities. The successful candidate will use computerised systems to record and report any defects and operate various equipment such as forklift trucks, cranes, and MEWPS. This role is vital in reducing the likelihood of costly breakdowns and improving the overall reliability and safety of plant and personnel.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist electrical/mechanical craft workers, technicians, craft operators, riggers, and scaffolders.
  • Maintain housekeeping in all areas of power station buildings, plant, and equipment.
  • Perform routine manual tasks associated with craft activities, minor repairs, and basic use of workshop power equipment.
  • Manage hazardous waste skips, waste solvent storage, lakes and water courses, and legionella monitoring.
  • Observe plant and take readings/records.
  • Carry out main and auxiliary plant inspections.
  • Operate forklift trucks, MEWPS, cranes, hoists, and winches.

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience.
