Job Description

This role is an excellent opportunity to join our coastal team, which has a proven track record in delivering high-quality projects both within the UK and internationally. We sit on several coastal frameworks and undertake various work for private sector clients, providing a comprehensive range of services from front-end feasibility projects to detailed design.

  • We use the MIKE software suite for coastal hydrodynamic and flood modelling.
  • Overtopping assessments are carried out using the Eurotop manual.
  • We inspect, conduct feasibility studies, and design coast protection and sea defence structures, such as revetments, rock armour, breakwaters, and embankments.
  • Our team designs maritime structures like quay walls, jetties, flood walls, pontoons, mooring dolphins, piers, berthing structures, steel sheet piling, lock and dock gates.
  • We contribute to EIAs (Environmental Impact Assessments) with coastal and marine input.Qualifications

    This position is ideal for school leavers with GCSEs or A-Levels who can demonstrate the following:

    • A minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade 'C/4' or above, including Mathematics & English.
    • Three A-Levels including Maths and a physical science at grade 'C' or above - essential for level 6 Degree Apprenticeship.
    • Some work experience or shadowing in an engineering environment would be beneficial.
    • Demonstrate an interest and desire to pursue a career in Traffic Engineering.
    • Show aptitude towards software-based engineering and drawing, e.g. Computer Aided Design (CAD) and other similar 3D software.
    • Commitment to continued education and improvement through on-the-job learning and training opportunities.
    • Creative, practical, adaptable and enthusiastic individuals are welcome to apply.
    • Ability to think methodically to design, plan and organize project parts.
    • Excellent communication skills to present information in speech, drawings and reports.

    The estimated salary for this role is £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on location and experience. As a civil engineering technician, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting projects, develop your skills, and contribute to the delivery of innovative infrastructure solutions.
