Job Overview

The Clinical Trials Aseptic Services Unit (CTASU) is responsible for aseptically preparing clinical trial doses for patients across the Trust, ensuring compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards.

This role involves undertaking a range of technical and administrative activities in CTASU, under the direction of the Accountable Pharmacist and Aseptic Services Manager or Deputy.

Main Duties

  • Support the Aseptic Services Team in managing the day-to-day workload in CTASU.
  • Work at an isolator fully gloved and gowned.
  • Maintain personal expertise and skills in aseptic dispensing.
  • Accurately complete product worksheets and labels, highlighting any issues with prescriptions.
  • Prepare raw materials and disposables for aseptic preparation.
  • Monitor drug stock and consumable levels, replenishing as necessary.
  • Maintain departmental records, including staff training, environmental monitoring, and maintenance logs.
