Job Title: Production Team Leader

FORDS Packaging Systems Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Team Leader to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for overseeing the smooth operation of our production processes, ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and motivate a team of production staff, ensuring that tasks are completed on time and to a high standard.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure production schedules are met and resources are allocated effectively.
  • Liaise with purchasing and stores to align build kit requirements.
  • Manage the collation of issues logs, including recommendations for improvement.
  • Encourage and implement continuous improvement initiatives within the production team, focusing on enhancing productivity and teamwork.
  • Monitor and maintain production records, including weekly timesheets and input relevant data into the ERP system.
  • Support the setup and testing of machinery, ensuring readiness for final inspection and customer acceptance.
  • Liaise with commercial and service departments to ensure smooth customer interactions and that all necessary documentation is in place for customer visits.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop floor environment, promoting excellent Health & Safety practices.
  • Assist with the implementation and optimization of the ERP system within the production team.
  • Provide clear communication and leadership to the team, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.

Requirements:

  • Experience in a production, precision engineering, or bespoke manufacturing environment, preferably within engineering or specialist machinery sectors.
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems, with hands-on experience in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
  • A proven ability to improve processes and drive efficiency.

  • 37-hour week (Monday to Thursday 7.45am-4.15pm, Friday 7.45am-12.45pm).
