About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Area Fitness Manager to oversee the ultimate member journey across multiple locations. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for curating and managing a diverse timetable of over 100 fitness classes, ensuring that our offerings meet the highest standards of quality and member satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and inspire a talented team of fitness professionals and instructors, fostering a positive and motivating environment.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to drive membership growth and improve member engagement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to identify and address operational challenges, ensuring seamless delivery of services.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments, new activities, trends, and research to inform programming and service delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Strong people management skills, with experience of leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, customer service, and staff management skills.
  • At least three years of experience in a fitness facility, with a proven track record of success.
  • Experience of sales, developing key targets, and implementing marketing strategies.
  • Good commercial awareness, with the ability to translate this into a successful and financially viable operation.
  • A passion for the industry, demonstrated through continuous professional development.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to negotiate and persuade people both internally and externally.
  • Team-oriented approach, with the ability to work across organization boundaries and demonstrate interest and support for the work of staff and colleagues.
  • Mobility to travel across sites.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills, with the ability to deal with multiple priorities.
  • A self-starter who inspires others with their passion and energy.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Education to degree level or equivalent.
  • GP Referral qualified.
  • A relevant higher professional qualification in leisure or fitness.
  • First Aid at Work.
  • Defibrillation.
  • Experience of identifying staff training and development requirements and implementing development opportunities.
  • An ability to identify and nurture talent.
  • Good computer skills and understanding.
  • To be able to work flexibly with a good level of autonomy.
