Job Title: Associate Director of Quantity Surveying

Norse Group is a leading property consultancy delivering high-profile projects to public and private sector clients across the UK. We are seeking an experienced Associate Director of Quantity Surveying to join our team in Norwich.

About the Role

As Associate Director of Quantity Surveying, you will oversee the project delivery of a multi-disciplined team, leading the Quantity Surveying service and acting as a key client contact regarding construction contracts, frameworks, and cost items at a strategic level. You will be responsible for managing and developing individuals, as well as maintaining and growing relationships with existing and new clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead on the delivery of construction projects with our clients, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and high-quality outcomes.
  • Support larger collaborative pieces of work within the Group, providing solution-driven advice to clients and senior stakeholders.
  • Provide inspirational leadership, management, and direction in a manner consistent with the Group's values.
  • Manage the resourcing of the QS discipline, including the commission of external consultants as required.
  • Act as the professional technical lead at an office level, ensuring adherence to company and working practices.
  • Develop, oversee, and approve project cost estimates and cost plans in accordance with RIBA stages and NRM2.
  • Procure and deliver projects using the most appropriate contract, such as those within the JCT Suite/NEC.
  • Support NCC procurement in compliance with tender evaluation processes.
  • Ensure business plan objectives and targets are delivered within agreed profit margins.
  • Provide regular commercial updates and cost reports to project stakeholders.
  • Identify new business opportunities within Norse Group, focusing on QS services.
  • Develop new and existing client relationships.
Requirements
  • Professional Chartered membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related discipline, or significant relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of a range of construction contract procedures and financial regulations.
  • Understanding of business planning, commercial risk management, and financial management, with demonstrable success in securing new business opportunities.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and proficiency in the use of JCT Suite of Contracts/NEC Contracts.
  • Proficient in using CostX software (or equivalent product) for measurement and billing.
  • Familiar with relevant construction, health, and safety legislation and risks, including the CDM Regulations.
  • Hold a current CSCS site card or be prepared to attain.
  • Leadership/management experience.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Full UK driving license.
