About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to provide a specialist paediatric Occupational Therapy service to children who experience difficulties in their functional abilities or skills development in the areas of self-care, productivity, and leisure.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide specialist paediatric Occupational Therapy service to a defined caseload of children with a range of needs.
- Manage a clinical caseload of children with a defined set of needs, using standardised and non-standardised assessment, interview, and observation skills to determine needs and effectively set goals and plan intervention.
- Utilise effective time management skills to ensure efficient service provision.
Management Responsibilities/Professional Leadership
- Assist the Team Leader in planning and providing Occupational Therapy input to children, including attendance at meetings and developing guidelines and protocols.
- Keep the Team Leader up-to-date with service provision issues and report any incidents promptly.
- Review the efficacy of service delivery and facilitate the setting up of new standards or amending existing ones.
- Stay up-to-date with Department and Trust standards and policies and disseminate this knowledge to colleagues.

Person Specification
- Essential qualifications: Degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy, Registered with HCPC.
- Desirable qualifications: Relevant post-registration specialist education, ideally sensory integration training levels 1 and 2.
- Essential experience: Specialist knowledge/experience in paediatric Occupational Therapy or relevant transferable skills.
- Desirable experience: Knowledge/experience in the use of relevant assessment and treatment approaches and practices.
