Hours: Full-time (term time only)
Salary: £110 - £180 per day

This role is suitable for a HLTA, SEN Specialist or Qualified Teacher. Please only apply if you are an experienced individual.

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Learning Mentor to provide one-on-one support to a young person with Autism, Dyslexia, ARFID, and PDA. The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of Autism and PDA, including managing demand avoidance and sensory sensitivities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide tailored support to meet the emotional and educational needs of the young person.
  • Engage in fun activities such as arts and crafts, outdoor pursuits, and the young person's hobbies to build rapport and make learning enjoyable.
  • Ensure the young person's safety at all times, following safeguarding protocols and addressing any concerns appropriately.
  • Collaborate with therapists, educational psychologists, and other professionals to provide coordinated care and contribute to the young person's individual support plan.
  • Monitor the young person's progress, providing regular updates to their family and the professional team, while celebrating achievements and adjusting strategies as needed.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience working with young people with Autism, Dyslexia, and PDA.
  • Experience supporting children with school-based trauma and anxiety.
  • A solid understanding of Autism and PDA, including managing demand avoidance and sensory sensitivities.
  • Ability to engage in activities such as arts, crafts, animal care, or outdoor pursuits.
  • Strong safeguarding awareness with a commitment to following protocols.
