About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our Primary School team in Leeds. As a key member of our educational staff, you will play a vital role in enhancing the learning experience for children with special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support teachers in delivering tailored educational activities for students with special needs, promoting inclusivity and individualized learning.
  2. Aid in implementing individual education plans and closely monitor student progress, ensuring effective academic support.
  3. Provide one-to-one mentoring and tutoring for students requiring additional support, fostering a safe and nurturing environment.
  4. Assist in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students, including those with autism spectrum disorder, by promoting empathy and understanding.
  5. Help manage classroom behaviour and ensure a supportive setting for learning, maintaining a calm and respectful atmosphere.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs.
  • Strong communication skills, both with children and adults, facilitating effective collaboration and support.
  • Understanding of special education practices and strategies for working with diverse learning needs.
