At Austin Fraser, we are seeking a skilled Railway Maintenance Technician to join our team.

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Locomotive Engineer to work on maintenance, repair, overhaul, modification, and fault finding on locomotives.

  • We are looking for someone who can lead engineer for contracts, projects, or tasks as necessary to support operational performance.
  • The ideal candidate will be part of the Engineering Services On-Call Roster, providing technical assistance over the phone or in the field as required.
  • You will be responsible for updating SAP system to ensure availability of parts and inputting data into the locomotive history tracking system.

This role requires strong engineering skills, particularly in BTEC National Certificate in Engineering OR Mechanics (ideally L3) and Personal Track Safety certification.

You will have a driving license and a solid understanding of rail industry requirements. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively in a team environment.
