Job Title: Experienced SEN Teaching Assistant

GSL Education is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to work in a local mainstream primary school in Bournemouth. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing quality SEN provision, knowledge on effective behaviour management strategies, and the ability to adapt to the diverse needs of the pupils with confidence and resilience.

The successful candidate will have experience working with children with SEN or complex additional learning and behavioural needs. They will support the class teacher to engage learners, meet individual needs, and communicate effectively with the pupils they are working with.

The role is available for an immediate start, Monday to Friday, with a lunch break. The position is term-time only, and initially a temporary position but with scope to become permanent if successful.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with SEN in a mainstream primary school setting
  • Work with the class teacher to develop and implement individualized learning plans
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEN
  • Communicate effectively with pupils, parents, and colleagues
  • Contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive learning environment

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with SEN or complex additional learning and behavioural needs
  • Knowledge of effective behaviour management strategies
  • Ability to adapt to the diverse needs of pupils with confidence and resilience
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
