The ideal candidate will integrate into a welcoming group of skilled chefs who possess extensive experience and share a dedication to maintaining exceptional culinary standards. This position entails preparing a variety of meals for numerous catered occasions, including upscale dining, outdoor events, and celebrations.
Compensation: £31,577 per annum, based on prior skills and experience, with two additional payments of £500: one upon successful completion of the probationary period and another on the anniversary of your employment.
Work Schedule: Straight shifts, five days a week, with no requirement to work during the Christmas season or on New Year's Day.
Benefits include: 30 days of annual leave, attractive health and pension plans, complimentary meals during shifts, opportunities for professional growth and training, and travel incentives.
Position Overview
The Chef de Partie will operate under the guidance of the Head Chef, ensuring the highest levels of catering, hygiene, and cleanliness are upheld.
This role demands a motivated individual with a background in catering and a genuine enthusiasm for food preparation.
As part of a dynamic kitchen team, you will play a key role in planning and creating a diverse array of high-quality dishes.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the kitchen team under the direction of the Head Chef or deputy to produce top-quality meals for daily catering and special events, including formal dinners, weddings, and academic meals.
- Prepare and present dishes for both College and private events with support from the kitchen management team.
- Contribute to the presentation of food and create visually appealing displays.
- Ensure timely completion of tasks according to recipes or under the kitchen management's guidance.
- Maintain exemplary standards of personal hygiene, cleanliness, and presentation by wearing the appropriate uniform.
- Adhere to the Food Safety Act and General Food Hygiene Regulations.
- Understand food allergens and how to accommodate them in meal preparation.
- Comply with Health and Safety Regulations, including COSHH.
- Participate in any necessary job-related training.
- Minimize kitchen waste.
- Ensure the security of kitchen supplies, premises, and equipment.
- Exhibit professional behavior towards all College members, visitors, and staff.
- Maintain strict confidentiality at all times.
- Be flexible and willing to assist colleagues as needed.
- Undertake any other relevant tasks as required by the Head Chef or supervisor.
