About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and adaptable Cover Supervisor to work with multiple secondary schools in the Islington borough. As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing behaviour and supervising classrooms when teachers are absent. This is an unqualified position, making it an excellent opportunity for those with a background in youth work, teaching assistants looking for a new challenge, or individuals interested in exploring a career in teaching.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage behaviour and supervise classrooms in line with school policies
  • Take on the responsibility of the full-time class teacher when they are absent
  • Work with students in KS3, KS4, and potentially KS5
  • Be adaptable and able to cover a range of subjects
About the Schools

You will have the opportunity to work with a variety of mainstream secondary schools in and around the Islington borough. The schools are looking for staff who are confident, proactive, and enthusiastic about working with children and young people.

Contract Details

This is a temporary contract with the possibility of full-time or part-time work. The rate of pay is £100-£130 per day, depending on experience.

Requirements
  • Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential
  • A degree in a relevant subject area is ideal
  • A passion for working with children and young people
  • Proactive and adaptable with lots of energy and enthusiasm

To be eligible for this position, you must hold a Right to Work in the UK, an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service, and be willing to provide two professional references.
