About the Role

Premier Engineering is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for managing the product portfolio, sustaining documentation, and driving continuous development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the product portfolio, including sustaining documentation and driving continuous development
  • Use CAD software to create concept designs and produce technical drawings
  • Design for welded and fabricated sheet metal parts
  • Create component and assembly models to meet customer requirements
  • Be involved in the final assembly of products
  • Create documentation for design, as well as project reports and plans
  • Update 3D models and drawings
  • Work collaboratively with a small multi-disciplinary team on varied projects
Requirements
  • At least 4 years' experience in a similar Mechanical Engineering position
  • Degree/HNC/HND/BTEC/NVQ qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, including sheet metal, fabrication, welded parts, and machining
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software, such as SolidWorks, Inventor, or Creo
  • Knowledge of various materials, including sheet metal and injection-molded plastics
  • Good theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerances
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a small team
