Mechanical and Electrical Engineer

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical and Electrical Engineer to join our Estates department at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust (279). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of Mechanical, Electrical, and Medical Plant & Equipment and Building faults.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair Mechanical, Electrical, and Medical Plant & Equipment and Building faults
- Deputise for Team Leaders and undertake Authorised Person/Competent Person roles as required
- Call approved Contractors for maintenance breakdowns and repairs when necessary
- Be included on the On-Call Rota to meet emergency and urgent situations out of core working hours
- Deal with Major incidents such as loss of electrical services to critical areas, loss of Medical gas to critical areas, and loss of heating and hot water services to critical areas
- Assist in motivating, training, and developing the maintenance team and apprenticeship scheme
- Plan and carry out maintenance and repair of Mechanical and Electrical plant, equipment, and services
