We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Substance Misuse Nurse to join our team at HMP YOI Drake Hall, a female prison located in Eccleshall. As a key member of our Substance Misuse team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our patients.

About the Role

This is a full-time position, offering an annual salary up to £38,115 per annum, depending on experience. You will receive a bespoke induction, including our Introducing Health in Justice training course, and have access to a competency framework, regional and national career development opportunities, and our bespoke Learning Management System to address your learning needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, prioritizing patient care to develop individualized packages of care through comprehensive assessment and recovery planning.
  • Deliver a range of treatment options, including clinical and psychosocial interventions, in both group and 1-1 settings, with recovery at the centre of our healthcare wellbeing model.
  • Monitor therapeutic responses to medication and potential side effects, and liaise with prescribers.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Registered nurse with current NMC registration.
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development (CPD).
  • RCGP 1 in Substance Misuse or willingness to undertake.
  • Experience of working with opiate-dependent patients.
  • Sound clinical substance misuse knowledge.

Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community, or prison environment.
